Although it is widely acknowledged that it takes less than 3 minutes to make a decision when interviewing a candidate for a job vacancy, decisions relating to other processes, such as choosing a venue for your next conference, generally take a little longer. For the British Hip Society this was a most definite exception!

Having initially approached the Riviera International Conference Centre, (RICC) in March this year, the British Hip Society (BHS) decided that Torquay's purpose built conference and exhibition facility would make the ideal choice for their 2011 annual conference.

Jaideep Mistry, Senior Account Executive, Concept Meetings said:
""Within the first 15 minutes or so of viewing the RICC, it was obvious to Concept Meetings that the RICC would be the perfect choice of venue for the British Hip Society Annual Meeting in 2011. The professional, friendly and flexible approach of the RICC team, state of the art meeting facilities with the added benefit of a top class in-house A.V production company, has made the process of planning this event a very pleasant experience."
This 3 day conference is expected to attract in excess of 300 delegates which will be held from 2nd to the 4th March 2011. It provides a forum for the discussion of research, advances in clinical practice and the results of surgical procedures pertaining to the Hip Joint. Surgeons from across the UK, who specialise in this field, will make up the main delegates.

This will be the BHS' first visit to Torquay, who appointed Middlesex based event and conference agency, Concept Meetings to locate and organise the conference on their behalf.

Nicky Harding, Conference Bureau Manager, Conference Torquay, said:
"Jaideep first approached us, via the Conference Torquay website, in March this year; a relatively short lead in for an enquiry of this size but which has resulted in a speedy and efficient turnaround for all concerned. We are delighted that we have been chosen to host this event and to be working with Jaideep and the BHS team"

The Bureau's accommodation booking service will be utilised by the BHS ensuring that their delegates can choose from the wide range of accommodation available across Torquay.

The BHS is just one of a number of conferences and events that the RICC has won in recent months including the Royal British Legion who have just announced their return to Torquay in May 2014 as well as recently announced National Union of Teachers Annual Conference in April 2012 and the Campaign for Real Ale for March 2012.
