New award for the Riviera International Conference Centre

New award for the Riviera International Conference Centre

The Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay, (RICC) has been awarded an AIM SILVER accreditation under the Meetings Industry Association's (MIA) own venue accreditation scheme. AIM is the accreditation scheme for the meetings industry and is fully endorsed by VisitBritain. It is designed to improve standards and quality throughout the conference and meetings industry in all types of venues and will therefore assist conference organisers throughout the UK in sourcing the very best venues, suppliers and services with this industry.

The venue, in Torquay, was externally assessed on December 10th and passed the stringent AIM silver criteria with flying colours.

The award was presented to the RICCs MD, Barry Cole, and Conference Torquay's Nicky Harding, last week at a prestigious ceremony held in London.

"We have been working really hard towards this over the last 12 months" said Barry Cole. "Evidence had to be gathered to meet the various criteria, followed by an inspection visit., This accreditation reinforces the views expressed by our clients of a venue with total commitment to the success of their events"

Conference Torquay Bureau Manager Nicky Harding was delighted to share in the recognition of the RICC as an outstanding venue.

"As a venue finding service for the English Riviera, we place a range of events in venues as diverse as the purpose built RICC, 4 star hotels, Dartmouth Royal Naval College and other exceptional venues. Adding this AIM accreditation to one of the venues in our portfolio will make the English Riviera, as a destination, even more attractive.

The RICC will be showing off its new accolade at the industry's key exhibition next week in London. International Confex is an annual event that brings together venues, services and buyers. As part of a Conference Torquay led initiate venues and services from this area will be promoting all aspects of conferencing in Torquay to potential buyers during this week long event.
