Exciting plans for a new 5 star spa hotel in Torquay!

The Palace Hotel in Torquay which was bought and closed in 2017 by the Fragrance Group have released exciting plans for the redevelopment of the hotel.

If the plans go ahead it will see a brand new 5 star spa hotel coming to Torquay. The plans are for 248 bedrooms, a 250 seat restaurant with private rooms and an outdoor terrace, a large guest lounge and bar, boutique lobby shops and a spectacular roof top bar with views across Babbacombe Bay, leisure facilities including indoor & outdoor pools, sauna, steam room, treatment suite and fitness studio.

Even more exciting for Conference English Riviera the hotel will have conference and event facilities for up to 500 people with a 220 underground car park.

The plans have been developed by Torquay-based architects practice Kay Elliot and they have revealed an impressive floor to ceiling glaze lobby.

If approved, this would be the most significant hotel built in Torbay for over 100 years, will create 300 new full time jobs, support the Torbay’s Destination Management Plan and generate around £400k for the council through the Community Infrastructure Levy.
